Star Wars! No matter how old you are, these two words elicit memories of adventure and excitement. Whether your generation grew up with the newer movies (also called the Clone Wars trilogy) or the original films from way back in the 70’s, the Star Wars genre is still going strong. And with the announcement of all new movies by the franchise’s new owner, Disney? The theme is more popular than ever!
Chances are, at some point, your little one will discover the magic of Star Wars. When he does, he’ll want to decorate his room with soaring X-Wings, Tie Fighters, and all sorts of heroic starships and villainous vehicles. But the first thing to do is determine whether you’ll decorate with the Original Trilogy, the Clone Wars movies, or (as some people do) with both.
The Original Star Wars movies came out in the late 70’s to early 80’s, starring heroes such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo. But by far, the most iconic of all Star Wars figures would be the dreaded Darth Vader. Both feared and respected, he’s also one of the most popular characters… and one that spans both franchises. So when decorating, he’s a sure bet.
Check out these Classic Star Wars decals when designing a theme room around the original trilogy. There are also individual characters such as Luke, Han, Leia, and Vader. Space ships from the original three Star Wars movies include the X-Wing and Tie Fighter, and the fan favorite Millennium Falcon. And of course, who could forget the Death Star! There are many peel and stick posters and wall murals you can put on your walls for all three of the classic movies: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Or go with classic light side or classic dark side panels, to show your allegiance to good or evil!
As for the newer movies, the Clone Wars trilogy appeals to a younger crowd. After all, they grew up with these films, and the movies themselves spawned a whole new series of animated cartoons featuring all new characters not found in the films.
Clone Wars characters such as young Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and General Grievous are among the more popular choices. But don’t forget the droids! R2D2 and C3PO are found in all six movies, and when it comes to the youngest of Star Wars fans, these are always going to have a special place in their hearts.
Finally, another couple of characters are found within both trilogies and are fan favorites for very different reasons. Heroically, Chewbacca is one of the more beloved of Star Wars characters, and somehow found his way into the new Clone Wars trilogy. But he’s still not as popular as the lovable Jedi Master (and every kids’ favorite): Yoda!
And among the more villainous of Star Wars denizens? Boba Fett is right up there as one of the dark bounty hunters of Jabba the Hutt. Although not nearly as evil or ill-tempered as Darth Vader, Boba Fett somehow developed a cult following that launched his character into four out of six of the Star Wars movies.
